REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO SCHOOL.

I do not mean to be impudent however i will be incisive.

From the time we where born, they made us understand that school
was the right thing to do.I had been led to believe(like most of you) that institutionalized education  was preparation for life.It is not.
We scaled through the primary school impeccably, as most of us topped our class.Getting to the secondary school was fun because we grew wise a bit and wiser at the senior secondary level.

That would have been the point to halt and have a rethink about where to plant the next seed and how to cultivate it properly to yield proper harvest. That is, pursue other alternatives, like learning about things that interest you( ie: self education) because that would be infinitely more important than spending valuable time in the higher institution being clueless as to what you really want in life.

But unfortunately,we acquiesced to write the so called WAEC/JAMB.Some where lucky to go through at first attempt while others tried endlessly.

Eventually, one gets admission to the university to study a course he/she is totally clueless about.

We Subsequently have to  struggle with the course for the next 4  to 5years.The struggling include,
harsh lecturers who feel they are Demi gods, poor environment for learning, low finances in some cases, and above all the peer pressure which differs according to gender.Entangled in these challenges, one eventually graduates.

THE REASONS WHY ,

1) SMART PEOPLE ARE SOMEWHERE ELSE-
Going to school doesn't mean you are smart, smart people are doing something better.
   Ask bill Gates.

2) SCHOOL MAY ERODE YOU OF YOUR NATURAL ABILITIES
The Stress involved may not allow you discover yourself

3) MOST LECTURERS ARE OFTEN CLUELESS

4) YOU WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT GET YOUR DREAM JOB

5) THERE ARE ALREADY TOO MANY B.SC/M.SC WITHOUT JOBS.

6) THE MONEY SPENT ON FEE COULD BE DIVERTED TO A PROFITABLE BUSINESS.

7) TEACHING IS MOVING ONLINE.

8) IT NARROWS YOUR OPTIONS IN LIFE.

9)  GRADUATE SCHOOLS IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE.

10) THERE IS NO SATISFACTION BECAUSE YOU WORK FOR THE PAY,NOT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO WORK.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS,

True learning takes place when you perceive a need ,when you have a void that needs to be filled,
when you become curious about something. In the absence  of a felt need,it is human nature to
perceive any new information(school) to be irrelevant or forced upon us, in which case we categorize it as
useless and subconsciously throw it away.Do you really use even 5% of what you learned in school today???

In my opinion,it is imperative that one figures out exactly what suits you and gives inner joy.Money will surely
come from that.
Finding ones self is easier said than done ,which is why you may choose to avoid school totally and spend more time exploring the unknown.
If you are in school, fine.Just be aware of the fact that correlating success with a university degree is a big mistake.

12 Things You Didn't Know About Airports

1.Flight Attendents Have a Secret Language

2.Air Traffic Controllers Are Literally Killing Themselves

Not only is the position of air traffic controller one of the most stressful jobs in the world, but the extreme mental pressure of keeping millions of people from dying in a fiery plane crash also causes significant physical stress. One ATC said that he had "full-blown congestive heart failure" by the time he retired.

3.Airport Employees Rarely Go Through Security

4.Planes Feature Secret Sleep Compartments

5.Pilots Have No On Duty Time Limits

According to a pilot posting on Reddit, FAA domestic flight rules don't cap the amount of time a pilot can be "on duty." Regulations only stipulate that they cannot spend more than eight hours in the air within a 24 hour period, which potentially means a pilot could be "on duty" for up to 14 hours, given time devoted to pre-flight check-ins, baggage loading, and fueling, not to mention runway delays.

6.Cargo Bins Are Littered with Graffiti

7.You Don't Need to Turn Off Your Electronics

Despite what we've been told on every flight ever, there's no longer a need to turn off phones, computers, tablets, and other electronics. This is because there's no chance of their low level frequencies interfering with the plane's sensors or instruments.

8.There's a Pilot Shortage

Apparently one of the reasons there are so many flight delays in the United States is because there's a massive shortage of pilots that threatens to completely wreck the travel options of folks who live in more rural areas.

9.Body Scanners Are Mostly Garbage

It is said that sometimes, there is  inability of the scanner to differentiate a molded explosive device from human skin.

10.Air Marshals Are Everywhere

11.If You Die Mid-Flight You'll Be Well Taken Care Of

12.The Real Reason Lights Dim When You Land

Just in case the plane needs to be evacuated upon landing, the lights are dimmed so the eyes of the passengers and crew can adjust to the outside darkness.

10 Facts About Donald Trump, the GOP’s Newest Presidential Candidate

Donald Trump announced he’ll be running for president in 2016. Trump joins 11 other Republicans who have already announced their candidacy. Here are some facts about the latest presidential candidate:

1) Trump almost filed for bankruptcy in 1990, due to massive personal and business debts. A significant amount of debt was garnered from financing the Taj Mahal, one of Trump’s casinos acquired in 1988, through high-interest junk bonds. However, he ceded 50 percent ownership of the casino to the original bondholders, who lowered Trump’s interest rates and extended the loan so Trump had more time to pay off the debt. Today, Trump owns more than 100 companies and his net worth is approximately $4 billion.

2) Trump World Tower, a residential skyscraper in Manhattan, has 72 completed floors (but lists 90 stories in the elevator panel). Before 21st Century Tower in Dubai and Tower Place 3 in Seoul were built, Trump World Tower was the largest residential building in the world.
3) Trump was the original owner of New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League. Trump sold the franchise to J. Walter Duncan in 1983 so he would be free to complete various construction projects.
4) Trump hosted his own reality TV show, “The Apprentice,” starting in 2004 on NBC. The purpose of the show is to eliminate contestants in order to find a head for one of Trump’s companies. Trump was paid $375,000 per episode of the show.
5) Trump doesn’t drink alcohol. His older brother struggled with alcohol throughout his life. “I learned a lot from my brother, Fred,” Trump said in an interview with Steve Forbes. “He set an example. It wasn’t, maybe, the example that people would think, but it really was, in its own way, an example. That here was this fantastic guy, who got caught up in the alcohol, and he ultimately died from alcoholism.”
6) Trump’s parents sent him to the New York Military Academy when he was 13 because he was an energetic child. They thought the institution would teach him some discipline. He graduated from the military academy in 1964 before continuing his education at Fordham University and eventually, the University of Pennsylvania.

7) In 2007, Trump received his own Hollywood Walk of Fame star for his role as producer of “The Apprentice.” His star was the 2,327th added to the Walk of Fame.

8) Trump has had three wives—Ivana (1977-1992), Marla Maples (1993-1999) and Melania Knauss. He and Knauss have been married since 2005. Altogether, Trump has five children, including Donald Jr. (1977), Ivanka (1981), Eric (1984), Tiffany (1993) and Barron (2006)

9) Trump is the only presidential candidate with his own board game, “Trump the Game.” The game was released in 1988 and requires players to invest in real estate properties, while simultaneously attempt to bankrupt competitors.

10) Trump has owned the Miss Universe Organization since 1996. In 2003, NBC became a joint partner of the organization with Trump. The Miss Universe Organization also produces the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.

I’m Qualified For The Position Of Vice President In 2019 – Fayose

Speaking yesterday night during his monthly media chat, Meet Your Governor, as reported by the Nation, Fayose urged the people to put “Gammalin 20” inside water to kill the herdsmen’s cows.

He declared that the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, will retain his position at the party’s May 21 National Convention in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

But he vowed to work against Sheriff if the PDP boss plans to transmute himself to a presidential candidate in 2019.

The governor described himself as eminently qualified for the position of Vice President, saying “God is taking him to a higher place after his term expires in October 2018”.

He wondered why herdsmen, who used to carry sticks, now brandish AK-47 assault rifles.

The governor criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for his silence on the rampaging herdsmen.

Fayose revealed that he rears cows in his hometown of Afao-Ekiti without constituting nuisance to the locals.

He urged residents to be ready to poison the cows.

The governor said:

“What I said was that we will now be more proactive, if you bring your cow to come and eat up my farmland, I will put Gammalin 20 inside the water they will drink from.

That is what I will do to those destroying our communities and raping our wives.

“I heard that 83 cows have been killed since I made the statement. If you come to Afao and eat up my palm tree, we have set traps for grass cutters and rodents and the trap will catch them.

“There is no land for grazing in Ekiti State. Power to assign land belongs to the governor. Tell them that there is no land for grazing here because it is my right to sign the C of O (Certificate of Occupancy)”.

Speaking further on PDP politics, Fayose said:”Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is the PDP chairman and he is going to continue in office.

“If he gives me the VP slot, it is a good thing for Ekiti people even though, you cannot set out to say you want to be VP.

“But you people should not worry yourself about 2019 because nobody knows who will be alive in 2019 but mentioning my name for VP is good for Ekiti.

“I will not support Ali Modu Sheriff for President in 2019. I am qualified to be VP if it is the will of God. God is taking me to a higher place, how, I don’t know.”

Fayose was stung when he was reminded by one of the panelists that when his tenure expires in October 2018, President Buhari would still be in office.

The governor fired back: “My brother, you are not a wise man by asking that question; anybody talking about what will happen in 2019 now is not a wise man.

“Nobody knows that APC would become a ruling party in the last elections.

“I am not afraid of anybody, you can charge me to court, they charged me to court, I won.

“They harassed my wife and the court awarded damages against them, they charged our lawmakers to court, we won.

“Do you want to tell me that because I am in opposition I should keep quiet? I am not afraid of them and I am not afraid of being detained.

“I will continue to criticise them because it was God who brought me here.”

Saraki’s 90 Lawyers Cause Confusion In Court

The trial of the Senate President Bukola Saraki on a 16-count charge of false assets declaration resumed at the Code of Conduct Tribunal today with controversy over how many of the over 90 lawyers representing the defendant can speak for him and cross examine the first prosecution witness, Micheal Wetkas.

The prosecution counsel Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, had immediately after Kanu Agabi, SAN, the lead defence counsel, told the court that Paul Erokoro, SAN, another member of the defence team will continue the cross examination of the witness, rose up in protest.

The prosecution counsel who had earlier expressed the hope that the defence will end the cross examination of the witness which has been on for about four days, argued that though the defendant may have many lawyers, only one counsel is entitled to speak for him at a time.
He further told Mr. Danladi Umar, the Chairman of the Tribunal that he should not give opportunity for the defendant to uses many “voices” in the cross examination.

“My submission is that a party is only entitled to one audience in one proceedings. A counsel who start a cross examination should conclude it. The fact that the defendant has four SANS does not mean each of them should do it. Not that one when person is tired another person will take over. It (the cross examination) will be endless.

But Erokoro opposed him arguing that there is no law that limits the number of counsel that a party can use in a case. He argued that it is for the very reason that a counsel may get tired that the law allows a party to a case to have many counsel.

Erokoro described the request by the prosecution that the defence should end its cross examination of the first prosecution witness today as absurd stressing that they will not allow themselves to be rushed.

“We are going to take our time and do the case properly. We will not be rushed; we will not be stampeded. If the prosecution doesn’t like it, he should withdraw some of the exhibits. We are going to take the court through all the exhibits,” said Erokoro.

We Will Create 210,000 Jobs Between Now And 2018 – Dangote Group

The Chairman of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote on Tuesday said that his organisation would create 210,000 jobs for unemployed Nigerians between now and 2018. He said that 80 percent of the jobs would be in the agricultural sector.

Dangote said this in Katsina in a goodwill message at the opening of Katsina Economic and Investment Summit themed “Unlocking Investment Potentials for Sustainable Development”.

“We will create 210,000 jobs between now and 2018 with 80 percent coming from the agricultural sector. So, we should pay attention to the agricultural sector for investment opportunities, particularly when the crude oil is now becoming unreliable,” he said.

He also said that agriculture is a lifetime opportunity for Nigerian, adding that Brazil, which had same peculiarities with Nigeria, had $350 billion in its foreign reserves, with 80 percent of the fund attributed agriculture.

I think it’s a lifetime opportunity which God has given to us by repositioning things while oil has gone down. It is not a curse, it is for us to diversify the economy. We have been relying on oil and I think oil very unreliable.

When you look at it, despite the downturn of various economic activities in the whole world, the only things that have actually not gone down are agricultural products. Rice, wheat, sugar have not gone down in price, so we should make sure that we use this opportunity which God has given us – arable land.

Both us and Brazil, we have the same quality of land and Brazil today are number one in sugar, soybean, poultry and in a lot of things. So I think we should copy that.

Dangote also said that he would establish the largest single refinery in the country with the capacity to produce 650,000 barrels per day and two sub-sea pipelines of 550 kilometers in Delta, Ogun and Lagos.

He said that he would assist government to reduce pipeline vandalism as well as provide 12,000MW of power.

He called for the creation of enabling environment for investors by identifying areas with comparative advantages.

“You don’t need to call for investors, just create enabling environment for the local ones, you will see the foreign ones gate crashing,” he said.

See What Michael Jackson Would Look Like As A ‘Black Man’ Without Surgeries (See Photos)

Over the years, fans of Michael Jackson watched him grow into man. He gave us memorable hits such as “Billie Jean,” “Thriller,” and “Beat It.”

However, his appearance seemed to change. Despite his obviously altered look, the King of Pop only admitted to two nose jobs – and blamed his progressively paler skin on the condition, vitiligo.

Eventually, all of the surgeries took a toll on his face and fans didn’t see him as that adorable little boy who they fell in love with anymore.

If Michael never got those surgeries or suffered from his alleged vitiligo, what do you think he would look like today?

A 2015 documentary, The 10 Faces of Michael Jackson, gave fans up close and personal look at his surgery confessions.

However, the one thing that stuck out throughout the entire documentary was a computer-generated image of what Michael would have looked like now if he was still alive.

We Never Arrested Or Invited Teebillz – NDLEA Says, As Teebillz Set To Fight Back

Although his whereabouts is still unclear but a source very close to him confided in Potpourri that the embittered husband of Tiwa Savage is preparing to fight back, not with emotional outbursts, the like his wife demonstrated in her video interview but with hard facts.

Our source disclosed that the first of such many steps to fight back was the drug abuse test which his friends made him take and Potpourri can authoritatively confirm he actually took the test and he was declared free of drug use.

Contrary to reports making the rounds that the former manager and husband of Tiwa Savage, Tee Billz was invited and arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the agency has squashed the reports, saying there was no substance in the report.

The spokesperson for the agency, Michelle Ofoyeju told Potpourri that it is not the business of the agency to arrest drug users. “ There is no substance in the story that NDLEA invited or arrested Tee Billz.

The agency cannot be dragged into their marital crisis. We do not arrest drug abusers, what we do is to recommend them for counselling and rehabilitation. The drug user is also a victim of drug trafficking” she said.

While the whole entertainment community of Nigeria is looking for Tee Billz, there are hints from some reliable sources that he has been receiving spiritual guidance and counselling from Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, General Overseer of Trinity House and Pastor Ayo Oluokun from City of David Church who was the first to reach out to him and pray with him, and for him daily since his breakdown.

He has also been receiving life coaching sessions and therapy by Lanre Olusola also known as The Catalyst whom he first met over 2 years ago at the beginning of his struggles with depression.

Sources close to Tee billz say he acknowledges that he has made mistakes, and he is taking steps to mend and rebuild his life by getting the help he needs in order to be a renewed man for his family and loved ones.

Comedian AY Shares Heartbreaking Story Of How He Spent 9 Years In The University

Nigerian comedian, AY Makun is one of the most successful stand-up comedians in Nigeria, but a personal account of his life has revealed his rough beginning which is in contrast with his current world of possibilities.

Read the brief testimony of Nigerian ace comedian and organiser of the AY Live show, Ayo Makun:

In December 1999 when my dad passed, It was difficult to take over his position as the first son. It became even more difficult when my mum decided to join him in no time.

Embracing the reponsibilities of taking care of my four sisters and two baby brothers wasn’t the best message to preach to a waiting landlord whose rent must be paid in due time. The combination of being a big brother and father came with a price that kept me in Delta State University for 9 years as a student.

Apart from the non-negotiable Christian upbringing from my parents, my dad always drilled me, and made me tough. He taught me how to be a strong independent young man. How to carry my siblings along as a leader of purpose. Though it wasn’t an easy journey for me or any of my younger ones, as we all struggled together. But hope was like the sun, which casts the shadows of our burden behind us.

I never stopped dreaming that one day our story would change and take each and everyone of us towards the direction of success. Apart from thanking God for all He has done for me as successful comedian, this is just my way of also saying “I AM PROUD” of my baby brothers @lanremakun of Lanre Makun Events and @yomicasual (the Fashion Designer) for embracing and indulging the paths that is beginning to position them as individual brands in their respective endeavours.

Above all, you guys must bear in mind that the only way to continue the journey to success, is to remain focused.
Humility is the true key to succeed in life. Eradicate every form of arrogance and self-indulging trap that will halt your blessings from God. See you at the top.

Niger-Delta Avengers: FG Deploys Team To Uncover Those Behind Pipeline Bombings

The Federal Government has set machinery in motion to uncover those behind the recent bombings of oil installations in the Niger Delta apart from the express directive to the military to halt the return of militancy in the region.

As part of the efforts in security and government circles to identify the masterminds of the attacks on the oil facilities, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.), has dispatched a team of investigators to the Niger Delta.

A new militant group in the oil-rich region, the Niger Delta Avengers, has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks on the SPDC platform at Forcados, the Chevron Okan platform at Abiteye in Escravos, and the pipelines transporting crude oil to the Warri and the Kaduna refineries.

The Chief Security Officer to the Amnesty Office, Lt. Col. Olusegun Okungbure, told our correspondent on the telephone on Sunday that the office was working with security agencies in the area of sharing information and intelligence on how to curb the sabotage of oil platforms in the region.

Okungbure stated that a meeting had also been scheduled between officials of the Delta State Government and stakeholders in the area on how to bring the attacks to an end.

He stated, “The Special Adviser has sent people to the region to see if we can identify the perpetrators of this act.

“Secondly, he has also condemned the attacks on all these oil platforms. He has also interfaced with the security agencies for the protection of the pipelines and security in the general area.

“Even as we speak now, we just finished a form of telephone conversation with the JTF Commander, who just returned from Delta State. These are some of the things we are doing.”

Okungbure added that the office had asked the ex-militants, captured under the Amnesty Programne, to assist in fishing out those behind the current attacks on the oil facilities.

He said the current attacks constituted a threat to the reputation of the 30,000 youths captured in the programme.

“We have even tasked the ex-agitators, the ones captured in the programme, that they should be able to fish out these people because their own reputation of embracing peace and accepting amnesty is being threatened by this kind of attacks.

‘‘I think everyone is well aware of the implications,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters has warned that the military would not tolerate acts that constitute a threat to the nation’s existence.

The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, said in a statement on Sunday that the military would not condone acts that could cause a breakdown of law and order in the society.

He urged individuals or groups “seeking relevance” to embrace the stipulations of the law and to avoid brigandage.

Abubukar added, “The Defence Headquarters hereby warns that it will not condone any unwholesome acts by persons or group seeking to engage in acts that are capable of causing a breakdown of law and order in any part of the country.

“Citizens are advised to refrain from taking the laws into their hands and avoid actions that may cause a breach to harmonious co-existence.

“The DHQ also wishes to advise the general public to ignore inciting pictures, videos and statements posted on some social media platforms which are now confirmed to be the creation of Photoshop, with the intention of causing disharmony and divisions among different nationalities.”

He assured the citizenry of the determination of the military and the security agencies to sustain the tempo of operations against terrorists, oil thieves, cattle rustlers and other acts of criminality in the society.

The Defence spokesman advised law-abiding citizens to report suspicious persons and objects to the security operatives for immediate action.Senate.

Nigerians Protest In Germany Over Fulani Herdsmen Attack In Enugu

SUSPECTED WIFE KILLER SPEAKS FROM HIDING

The man who allegedly killed his wife and mother of his 2 children, Ronke Shonde in Lagos on Friday, has given his side of the story while in hiding. Lkan Shonde spoke to PUNCH Metro over the phone line provided by his in-law, Bolatito, which was confirmed by the police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos. Mr. Shonde told Punch correspondent that his wife, Ronke provoked him on Thursday when she described how her lover slept with her in a hotel in Abuja on Thursday night.

Lekan, a depot worker in the Apapa area of Lagos State, said his wife of eight years changed after she allegedly started dating the general manager of a publishing company she worked for.
He said his late mother had warned him against marrying Ronke but he ignored his mother's warnings and still married Ronke, a decision he regrets.
He said the last time he beat his wife was three years ago after they had a disagreement, adding that he never touched her since then. He narrated...

“Since I married my wife eight years ago, she has never bought anything into the house. I gave her N5,000 on Saturdays and N3,000 on Tuesdays for soup. I also gave her money to make her hair.
“She was working with GTB as a marketer, but she got sacked three years ago. For that period, I was the one feeding her and taking responsibility for everything in the family. I would wash her pants, bathe the children and buy foodstuffs in the house. She later got a job with a publishing company owned by her uncle.

“But my wife changed sometime in March, when she started dating the general manger of a publishing company. My wife was going to the office from Monday to Sunday and she wasn’t going to church again, all because of this man. She called him ‘Eyitemi’ (My own).
“Last week Friday, she went to Abuja and came back on Monday. She never told me that the lover was there with her. I learnt later that the lover was there and they slept together in the same room for four days.

“When she came back, she didn’t know I was inside the house. She started talking with the man on the phone that he really had fun with him and I didn’t know how to make love. She again said her private parts were paining her.”
He said he confronted his late wife about the affair and she confirmed that she was indeed dating the other man.
He said he got angry and told his late wife to leave the house but she refused to leave.
He said that particular Thursday night, they had an argument over money. He said:

“It was around 9pm on Thursday. We had paid our nanny N20,000. Then we needed to pay our children’s teachers N30,000. I discovered she had taken N20,000 and when I asked her to return my money, she said she had spent it.
“I was angry because for the past three months, she didn’t allow me to have sex with her. I pushed her hand away from me on the staircase and I left her. She never tumbled or fell. In fact that night, I bought the food that we both ate because she said she didn’t want to cook.
“I didn’t know anything had happened to her until Friday when I saw her on the staircase. I thought she was still pretending. I just left her and walked away.”

When he was asked why he shut the gate against his children, he denied doing so, adding that it was his son who closed that gate after the he left the house.
Lekan also denied taking his late wife's phone, he said he left it on the bed.
He said he didn't kill his wife and that he had no motive to do so, stating that he had bought her two cars and always provided everything she needed.

He said, “Jide, her family’s second child lived with me for three to four years. Their eldest daughter, Bolatito, has lived with me too.
“Although I am not a saint, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. I am a responsible man. The problem with my wife was that she was temperamental. She shouted at me whenever she talked.
“I am a Lagos boy and I can be in this Lagos for the next 30 years and nobody would see me.”
The aunt of the victim, Bunmi, explained that the suspect, Lekan Shonde, has been threatening suicide, but that they don't want him to do so becaise their mother had forgiven him.

She said, “Mummy is very sad with this, but she has forgiven him and does not want him to commit suicide.”
A family source said that Lekan had always accused his late wife of extra-marital affairs and that the suspect had frequently abused her. Adding that the police had been involved on occasion.

He said, “He always beat her because of his belief that she was into an extra-marital affair.
